Personally, I wouldn't buy any controller that didn't have dedicated MIDI ins and outs. You're at the mercy of the manufacturer to ensure they keep developing software drivers for the USB connection...

I just sold my SVT 410HLF on Saturday for $250. Great cabs, sound huge and the handle and wheels make it far more portable than any 4x12 guitar cab I've ever owned.

Nah, I don't do any of that and never have on a 6 string. It baffles me how people use their thumb or grip with their whole hand - I always extend my fingers and tend to place them very articulately...
