Yeah happened to me, i just went over to a smooth jazz type of sound and tried removing all the 7's and 6's i played. Play around with the dynamics on the bass notes of a chord or viversa.

i was playing in my first gig, drummer said he needed to see me do the cues for tempo, time signature or fills. By cues i mean he needed me to look at him and lip tell him to change.

Your going to need a mic, a interface(make sure it has what your mic needs like phantom power and the correct input outputs like XLR) and a DAW....

I don't know if the other posts are being sarcastic or not xD and the muscle memory thing is for every technique. Wouldn't say shredding is bad, but playing sloppy really is bad.

Are there any amp simulators that aren't plug-ins?

Something for example. I grab my guitar, connect the jack and at the other end there is an usb, connect the usb to pc, open the amp sim and start playing. Most of the stuff i see are just plug-ins...
