I'm surprised that you didn't like the Schecter or the BC Rich. I've heard nothing but great things about both guitars. The Ibanez is probably your best bet.

Should work. Stanley Jordan tunes in all fifths. I'd say go with a heavier set because the lower tuning will be made up in the tension. Probably a 12-54.

I disagree. I use a SUB Ray5 (black with a maple board) and it's a nice instrument. I won't say it can compete with Music Man branded instruments (the $1500 and up) but it holds up well to my Fender...
