I'd suggest a used ValveKing 112. They are around your budget and should be plenty loud enough. The clean channel is really nice. I bought one for $130 and sold it for quite a bit more than that.

I think they're using TAD tubes as stock nowadays. You can try those from tubeampdoctor.com. I've read of lots of folks putting JJ's in them too.

Yep. My Eclipse has the thin u profile that most of the ESP/LTDs have.

Most of the ESP/LTDs may have too hot of pickups for a standard les paul sound though so consider that.

Don't underestimate the green channel, crunch enabled, gain around 6-7, with the tubescreamer.
