I wouldn't personally reach for an LP if I was going for funk rhythm. Good thing I got a tele for just such situations. If I'm trying to emulate a Fender player I'll go for my telecaster, Gibson...

If it were up to me I'd go for the Les Paul. I'm biased as I generally really like Les Pauls but for hard rock stuff they're pretty tough to beat. GnR, AC/DC and Nirvana all use humbucker loaded...

I'm primarily a metal player and proud owner of a Custom 22. I would say yes a PRS can definitely do metal, although mines not my main guitar these days and I find the stock Dragon II pickups to...

Just throwing this out there, but in my experience Duncan and Dimarzio use different wiring colour schemes. The wiring could be mismatched somewhere causing the issue. I would go back over the wiring...

On a hard tail guitar you can easily go between standard and drop without any need for a setup. I sometimes beef up the lowest string a gauge or so when recording or using a drop tuning extensively...

They may be waiting an order to be filled by Gibson they've already placed (just venturing a guess). I know that they've changed a few of the LP's and what Gibson's offering for 2015 and the...

Just wanted to re-iterate some points already mentioned, in that it really is a subjective question, and is only one that you can answer for yourself. I bought a new Gibson LP Traditional a few years...

The sound issues your hearing might just be the battery needing to be replaced in the actives. That's a great price and if you like the look and playability I'd try swapping a fresh battery and see...

Theres a fair amount of decent stuff you can look at in that price range (PRS SE, LTD, Ibanez, Jackson too name a few). I personally have never cared for most of the Ibanez (or Jackson) stuff in that...

All the time. I usually practice scales and even work on songs whilst unplugged, just more practical for me and makes plugging in seem that much more rewarding when I can YMMV. I don't usually use...

For me it really comes down to if the guitar is a fixed bridge or floating trem. Fixed bridge is very simple to setup with some basic tools but I personally can't be bothered to deal with a floating...

Ya ended up finding a shop not to far that had both EC-1000 and EC-1000T in stock. Impressed by both, kinda liked the feel of the 1000T a bit more so I think my choice is made.

Thanks for the input...

It doesn't look like a real one to me. Headstock doesn't seem to be shaped correctly, and the knob/switch placement seems peculiar. I could be totally wrong but it doesn't seem legit to me.
