If you want to go the full 9 yards sand it back to wood and firstly try it with just shellac (a few of mine are just shellac and it feels great) if you don't like that then tru oil as suggested...

you can do either, it depends on how the fx loop is wire..... I would go into the back if it bypasses the EQ and just basically runs off the master volume that way it won't colour your tone at all

As I said, I would just wet sand it with something like 1200 grit waterproof sand paper (if you can still see any lines after then go to 800 grit) then clearcoat it...job done :D

ok so get a pencil and rub it across the nut (with the strings out of the slots)....this should help with the "creaking"..as far as fizz goes turn the gain down a little and add a bit of mid range....

you just need to very lightly rough up the surface or take the "gloss" of by using scotch brite pad or fine grit wet dry sand paper, don't press to hard because you don't want to take anything off....
