Think of Christmas lights, but instead of lights it has 9V power outputs. It's cheap and convenient in most cases, but they can introduce noise due to being unisolated.

Pretty sure Dave Murray used the Dimarzio SD and PAF combo as well in his Strat. Definitely a good combo.

Voodoo Labs is probably going to be your best bet, as they have a solid reputation. They do come at a premium, though. There is ones out there that are cheaper, like the JOYO JP-01 and JP-02.
