Thanks for all of the advice everyone. The guitar is not worth very much so if there is a chance of it being fixed, it will be a DIY job, as getting a professional to do it would probably cost more...

Yes. What that is there, is essentially a 1x12 speaker cabinet. You'll need an amp head or combo with more speaker outputs to power it.

I've heard the display on the boss is a bit brighter. I own the pitchblack, and at an outdoor gig in sunlight its pretty hard to make out. I'd say they're both pretty similar though!

The only difference between the standard decimator and the g-string is that the g-string can be used in stereo, so unless you're using a stereo rig, I wouldn't bother spending more for the g-string....

I'm guessing you play metal, but any other genre you're going for? other than that if you can, bring your amp with you to try them out and see what works best! those are two pretty different guitars!

Everyone will tell you to buy a new amp instead. Which is really what you should do, as different pickups won't make much of a difference through a digital/modelling amp.
