In my experience, it can get bedroom quiet. It just did, in fact, cause it's 10:00pm here. As far as tone, to my ears, it's not bad, its just better when it's louder. YMMV.

Absolutely not. Actually, all of these amps should be loud enough to be gigged with, but that's what the master volume is for.

I should say, though, the AC15 is damn heavy.
