To go from active to passive, you just need to also change your volume and tone pots. Actives also have a different input jack, but you don't really have to change that, just wire it correctly.

It's basically a knock off of the Tremol-no, but much more time consuming to install.

Took me 5-10 minutes to install my Tremol-no and all I needed was a screwdriver and an Allen wrench.

I have both. After the initial stretching period, there is no difference. Locking are much faster when re-stringing though.

Where does your high e keep breaking? Is it at the bridge? If so you may have a burr where the string sits. A little bit of filing can fix that.

Get the Tremol-no if you like the guitar. I just installed one on my Jackson 7 string and it works great. It only took me about 15 minutes to install.

I can't speak of the Ultra, but I played the nighthawk while testing portable amps. I was blown away by the playability and sound of that guitar. I almost walked out with axe instead of the amp.

Cool, I have the same set in my Jackson 7 string. I had the opposite problem with the bridge lacking sound, turned out the wires I taped off were not stripped enough.

I really dig the nazgul.
