The OD 808 is tried and true, can't go wrong with that. A much cheaper option is a Joyo Vintage OD. They basically tried to clone it. They are very close in sound, just cheaper construction etc.

I'll second that Charvel, I used to have the DX-1 desolation (need to update sig)and it sounded incredible. The build quality like paint blemishes etc. wasn't the best though.

I used to have a burgera 333xl, 6260, and 6262. The 333 always seemed to hiss even when replacing the tubes with JJs. Although the amp itself sounded quite a bit better. I think it's normal.

I'm not real familiar with that amp, but my EVH has a tube for the fx loop. Bad tube maybe? You could also try powering the pedals with batteries and see if that eliminates it.

I would definitely buy used, more for your money. Within that price range I also wouldn't look at a guitar with a trem. Even on $1000+ guitars trems can sometimes be a pain(I personally love them...
