So I played some strats mostly american, some mims. Mostly through a fender twin if tht makes a difference. I liked the mims, but they didn't seem too well balanced tonally compared to the American.... |

Electric guitar is a different beast. It needs more subtle movements because its more responsive, and that is just as hard as having strong movements for acoustic. |

That has nothing to do with the guitar or pickups. I suspect ur amp having a noise gate, and I suspect it's set too sensitive/high. What a noise gate does is, it mutes all the sound when the volume... |
