I don't use a crybaby. But with mine switched off(bypass) I left the cable hooked for over a month with no ill effect. Guess it depends on the brand.

I was at a local Pawn shop today to see if they had any sweet deals on amps. They only had three to choose from. A Marshall, that wasn't working right (that ones off the list) then a beat up POS...
