I'd suggest taking it to a tech and asking if you can watch him/her do it. Changing the range so dramatically will need the setup altering, so that would be a good time to get that done too :)

I started playing bass because listening and playing the groove of a song has always appealed to me. I also prefer different genres of music when playing bass or guitar.

Really nice! I mostly agree with andreicristian but here's some of my own thoughts. I like how it all blends together and makes it sound incredibly deep. The tones sounded perfect for the style. I...

Sounds good! one thing I would suggest is getting a slightly more human sounding drum plugin. Something more like Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums, EZDrummer, etc. Other than that, the tones were...

Mixtest Project 2015

Hey guys, I've decided to start a project for myself.
You see, I'm teaching myself to produce, mix, master, engineer, etc. The one thing I find helps me the most is looking back over the stuff I've...

I only really use delays in 2 ways; dubby style delays through the front of the amp (usually 5-6 repeats, 300ms, 40-50% mix) or very percussive rhythmic type delays where it syncs up to my playing...

I've never had any issues with restringing cleanly and I've never had a winding slip, so I'm happy with non-locking, though if I bought a guitar with locking tuners on it, I wouldn't bother to change...

Another vote here. What I personally did was that since I had an extra few springs laying around, I just chucked them all.

EDIT: Yep, lowering the string tension will just make the bridge flusher....

Getting Nolly's bass tone with a POD HD500x?

Hey guys, quick question. Is there a way to get a Nolly-esque bass tone from my HD500x?
I know that on his Axe FX, he uses a blend of a 5150 and a warmed up DI, but other than than that, I got...

Getting 3A out of a 2A power supply

Hey guys, I'll keep it simple. I have an MXR 'dc brick' which puts out 9v at 2 amps or 18v at 2 amps. I also have a Line 6 Pod HD500x which requires 9v at 3 amps. Obviously a single output on the MXR...

In my experience, Blackstars are only really good past the HT5 or so. Same goes for Line 6. The DT50 and DT25 are real tube amps designed by Bogner and they sound great.

I use a variety. I find Cobalts sound and feel tighter, so I use a 10-62 set on my 7 string, but I use regular 10-52 nickel wound (and a 11-56 set on one) D'Addarios on my 6s. For bass, I use an...
