I agree with the Dunlo 65/lemon oil combo. Very good products that last forver. have been using them for a couple of years now and no regrets. As for the strings GHS fast fret is pretty good.

EC1000s are great guitars especially at that price. As for the rhythm stuff you want to do it should be fine. Just decide if you want the ones with the JB/59 or EMG sets.

I have them in my ec-1000 and compared to the 81/85 set the het set is far less compressed while still being a tight pickup with plenty of mids. Almost like the 81x/85x but with a bit more output.

Neither. The qc on both isn't that great and you can get a lot more for your $ especially with the LTD 1000 series guitars and get a much better guitar.

Make sure all your screws are tightened and placed correctly as mentioned. I would put a new string on it and reset the trem again. To me it just looks like the E string unwound itself, it's happened...
