http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/ergo-lok-strap is pretty good, not as handy as a proper strap lock, but yeah.
Also headstock isn't a hard fix, just make sure to glue and clamp it proper.

Well, I tuned a set of Rotosound RS66-LB strings to BEAD (octave up from what a low B on a bass would be) and they're like .90-.35 or something. It wasn't very comfortable to play though.

Enjoy! I don't know if you've got any experience with actives, but I like the ones in my bass. Also, you CAN use them without a battery, but the signal will be VERY low. Finally, don't leave it...

If you like the way the passive Warwick plays, go for it. The sound difference shouldn't be that big. Also swapping pickups is a lot easier than changing the way a bass feels.

Tool-wise you'd need a screwdriver and whatever files and Allen keys you'd need to set it up. Maybe a drill, if the body you got doesn't have pickguard holes or whatever.

Ye i5. Graphics chip will be an issue if you plan to play games on it, but for audio editing and whatnot processor power is the most important thing.

ok for pickups you can just get EMGs or something that uses bar magnets and not worry about anything. Although I think a normal 7-string pickup should work.

maybe a black dye, then sand it back to make the grain stand out more? I'm no expert but I've seen some builds where they do that,especially on maple tops and the like.
