If you choose a 25,5 inch scale, then the bridge is at 25,5 inches from the nut. When I say Bridge I mean the contact point of the string to the saddle.

You route the channel and then you put the truss rod. Once that is done, you fill the top of the trussrod channel with a strip of wood. Like in fenderīs necks....
