+! for either the EBMM JP7 or an Ibanez Prestige/Universe. You should be able to get one with your budget.

Carvin is another excellent choice. I don't like the neck nearly as much as Ibanez necks,...

Yes. Huge difference in sound and playability.

I would go for the 450 or 470. You may not even need to upgrade the bridge if its in pretty good shape.

It really depends on the sound and feel you are going for, as others have mentioned. I personally can't stand the weight or feel of a Gibson, and greatly prefer the look of ebony over rosewood...

The RG neck will be a little thinner than Jackson necks, but the fretboard will also be flatter and wider. I would definitely try it before you buy it.

I was a die-hard fan of Ibanez RG necks for...

Bound fretboard, Seymour Duncan pickups, MIJ, awesome color... yeah, I would snatch that up in a second. Awesome guitar, good price.

Coming from a fellow Ibanez fan ;)

Well I gave up trying to fix it as the issue wasn't with the power tubes. Took it in to the shop, I should get it back within a couple weeks.

Oh I meant the power tubes are not lit. I could not see the preamp tubes clearly, I will check again later today.

Thanks for the bump, I really need to get this sorted out!

I just don't want to buy tubes and have that not be the issue. The tubes in back don't light up when the amp is on though, so I assume it...

Peavey 6505 112 stopped working

After playing my Peavey 6505+ 112 combo for about 30 minutes the volume on my amp faded quickly to silence. There was no anomaly other than a reduction in volume, and now the amp wont make any noise...

I would just try to get an Ibanez RG7321 used. I frequently see them on CL and eBay for $150-$250. Great starter seven string.

Repainting my Ibanez

Well I have this old ('87 or '88) Ibanez S540 that I would like to repaint. It is in this awful dark metallic purple/red, and the previous owner did NOT take good care of it.

My question is: when...
