Oh I'm not looking for a 6505 tone, just that kind of level of gain.

Interesting, how would an EQ help getting a metal tone exactly?

So is that all a clean boost does? Boost the volume of my guitar's signal into an amp?

So I could use the "volume" knob on an MXR 10-band EQ pedal as a clean boost as well?

Are Celestion V30 speakers known to have deep bass?

I've played a Traynor YCS50 (http://traynoramps.com/guitar/ycs/product/ycs50/) 50-watt 1x12 combo amp, & it has the most bass of any tube 1x12 guitar combo I can find (i'm looking for a lot of bass)....

Which is the #2 best thrash band ever? (assuming Metalica is #1)

Most would agree Metallica is the #1 thrash band of all-time (they headlined the Big 4 festivals, so 'nuff said). Let's not argue that. Instead, who do you think is the #2 best thrash metal band of...

Well if amps are rated from clean/low-gain to ultra high-gain, I'd say it's high gain. You can play metal on it stock with no pedals, but it's not a 6505.
