I tried a JCA100. It was really nice for what I'm looking for. Apparently it needs a footswitch to change channels. I hate that.

I also tried a Tweaker 40. It was a solid amp. It didn't really get...

I'm not sure I'd be able to get a JCA50 with my budget.

I have tried the Tweaker. One of my buddies used to have the 15 watt version. I think he got rid of it just for the sake of having more...

Another option I've thought about is buying an amp that is more oriented toward a Blues/Ska/Punk/Classic Rock ect. sound, and then maybe getting a pedal for the metal stuff later. The metal pedals...

I'm looking more for a 212 or more so a head if possible. Sorry. I should have made that a bit clearer in my original post. I would go with a 112 if it was a great deal, but I rather like my cab, and...

Thanks for the advice. I haven't found any Triple XXXs to try out. I'd pretty much be going on word and demos on the internet.

Is the 3120 much different? They seem to crop up for about $400.

The fact the Ultra needs a footswitch that is no longer around really to switch to the crunch channel is a bit off-putting.

Ah, that's what I was guessing.

Would it probably be better to go with the XXX in this case? The JSX is definitely out of my price range, but the XXX is a little bit possible.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've tossed around the idea of a Bugera a bit, but the reliability issues are a little unnerving. I do like the sound judging from the videos I've watched though.

Looking for a Versatile, Yet Cheap Tube Amp

Alright, so to start it off my budget is roughly $350 or so. Maybe $400 but that's a stretch. Let's just say $350 for the sake of it. I know that's a bit on the low side for what I want, but it is...

You're right, but that's not really what I'm saying.

If you're just practicing with your band in the basement, you'll be able to go a lot further with an AC15 versus a Spider.

Having a cheaper...

The post I was quoting was in reference to solid state amps. I suppose I should have clarified, but still.

Of course an AC15 can gig. A 15 Watt Spider IV will give you some trouble.

If you use a smaller 15 watt amp, yeah it'll sound pretty poor if you crank it all the way. A nice solid state is plenty giggable.

I would go with a Vypyr 75 in the TS's case.

Cheap, Decent, Tube Heads.

Right now for my main amp I use a Solid State Randall. I rather like it, however it's more of a high gain punk/metal amp.

I'm looking for a very cheap tube head for a more Bluesy/Classic Rock/Older...

I am aware I'm using too much pick in the video. It's for a demonstration of the general sound. It's loud. An amp at practice volume for me does not drown it out.

I hold my pick fairly "normal" as...
