Is that 300 - 400 price you mentioned for a new AC30? They are usually more like 700 new. If it's the AC30VR then it's a hybrid and not all tube.

At least with two pedals you only have 2 possible combinations to try.

I have a whammy 5 and a big muff tone/wicker and I preferred the whammy before the muff.
Try both ways and see what sounds best...
