The Area pickups are quite good. I think with any pickup that does the proper chimey strat neck sound you're going to have some volume difference against a JB. The 67 is a good compromise though...

It's a split. Actual coil taps are exceptionally rare, I can't think of a single production model that has a tap. Where they do exist is usually on single coil pickups anyway.

Get a properly sized 1x12 cab with a greenback or a Weber blue or silver bell. I was never able to get my AC4 to sound great with the tiny stock cab. I don't think a simple speaker swap is enough....
