The noise is not going through the speakers, it's coming from the amp itself. Although when the amp is on, the humming gets amplified through the speakers.

The fact that the noise is less when my OD pedal isn't on, leads me to believe it's preamp hiss. But shouldn't the decimator be able to take care of that?

6505's sound fine at lower volumes. And I don't really know what you mean by a naturally scooped sound, as the 6505 is known as a mid-heavy amp.

Some of the posts above are completely ******ed. People who plain high gain stuff need noise suppressors. Experiencing hiss/noise/feedback DOES NOT mean you're using too much gain. End of story....
