I'd say practising in a comfortable chilled environment helps too. Well it does for me..if it's noisy and i'm stressed it only hinders my progress, but then i'm quite an angry person.

You would ideally want to be able to notate everything you know onto proper manuscript paper, key sigs, time sigs, cadences, harmony etc. Theory tests are applying everything you know onto paper....
