Well, Slash's tone is an overdriven Marshall jcm800, so in your case the closest you can probably get on budget will be a tubescreamer clone and the DSL amp I listed.

It is a nice amp, God forbid you'd have to get it serviced though, if you looked inside your jaw will fall at the mess of wires. I also like its tone but the reason I didn't get it used at the time...

Maybe time to start looking at voicings and apply chords to your leads, octave lines and read up on theory, maybe some atonal and diminished licks. I'd suggest you look up some modal theory as well.
