Agree, get an amp with any kind of drive/distortion on it and play it out loud. You can say that if you are trying to "find out" what you have to buy to get a punk sound, you aren't being so punk xD....

Problem is that i will most probably need to move the amp back and forth between home and the rehearsal... with the tube it could be a problem considering the price of the tubes. Anyway thanks to all!

About palm muting

When playing mid tempo palm mutes, for example on the sixth string, hitting the string from an "higher" height makes the mute sound "harder"? For "hitting from higher" i mean using a "wider" movement...
