Just plug the 16ohm mono input on the cab to the 16 ohm output on the amp. Don't use a guitar cord, get a proper speaker cable with 1/4 inch jacks on each end.

I just used the StewMac nut files and fixed the nut on my SE 245. I also upgraded to 10-46 strings. The pickups are fine IMO for a guitar that costs under $600 New.

I prefered the SE 245 or even the Bernie Marsden. Thicker body and more Les Paul like. New I believe they cost less than the SE Single Cut as well.

OP there's figure and there's grain. Gibson tops are either flat sawn, quarter sawn or rift sawn. Each gives a different view of wood grain. Rift and Flat show the grain of the woods more (pattern)...
