The head is over 1000, the combo is cheaper though to my knowledge there is some difference in distortion channel compared to head version. But its an excellent metal and hard rock amp either way.

Low wattage does not equal good sound in bedroom. High wattage amps have a perfectly functional volume knob and can sound just fine on low volumes.
