While you have it open it couldn't hurt to inspect the whole wiring...

You can try to fix it, or if you are any good at soldering, you can replace it for fairly cheap.

I believe you want to be using the Boss FS-5U switch for that.

The L is for latched type switch and the U is for unlatched.

I had the same problem using a FS-5L on my Boss ME20 for bank switching....
