Just takes practice. If you practice it enough, octaves will pretty much become muscle memory and the fret steps will just feel natural. Just keep working at it.

Get some industrial strength velcro and a piece of wood. I use a Boss TU-2 tuner as a power brick, it has a DC output that you can just plug a string of 9V plugs to.

I'd use powertabs or guitarpro, UG has a slew of Tool ptab/gpro tabs and you can adjust the tempo to whatever you want.

I enjoyed it, I used to play this song in a cover band when I was younger. Those notes are super high and hard to hit but you do a great job, nice tone and playing too.
