Wow it was definitely the TSE X50 that was giving me the harsh high tone. I just tried the Lepou Lecto amp sim and it's night and day. The sound is a lot thicker. I'm also trying different impulses... |

Btw I do record direct and I use TSE 808, TSE X50, and Catharsis s-preshigh impulse and I found that trying other impulses can really impact the sound, but sometimes the impulses almost seem muffled... |
