Just got around to doing this yesterday. The 800 is a 2x12 combo with two celestion lead 80's in it, those combined with the peavey preamp section added more bass and depth, rather than a flatter,...

So if I go from the Bandit's "fx loop send" to the 800's "fx loop return" with my guitar cable and guitar going into the Bandit's input. Is only the Bandit's speaker going to be moving air? Or will...

I'm not necessarily doing it for less volume, but more out of pure curiosity to know what the Bandit's pre-amp section, combined with a tube power section would sound like. I may end up trying it...

Slaving tube amp to solid state amp

Hello,
A few months ago I purchased a peavey bandit 75 (1x12 combo) as a backup practice/bedroom amp, but lately my curiosity has been wondering about trying to slave the power section of my primary...

How much will different el34's/el34l's actually change your tone?

Title says it all. I have a pair of JJ el34's in my jcm 800 4211 (the two channel 2x12 combo). I'm wondering how much a quad of el34l's or possibly kt77's would work in it. The jj el34l's are...

I'm pretty sure the meter isn't the problem. It works fine on everything else. The 4ohm jack is the one thing that doesn't read a little less than the total impedance.

Is it possible that it could...

1960 changes impedance

I have a Marshall 1960 4x12 that has seen a few different speaker combinations come and go. I am settled with two v30's and two 75's, all of which are 16 ohms. The 75's are from an 80's Marshall...

From having the pcb in it, things seem to be set up differently in this guitar. The wire for the bridge pickup had some heat shrink around it. When I peeled it back, I found this: one wire splitting...

I think I'm just gonna go for 500k pots on the volume knobs and take the pcb out while I'm at it. So any 500k pot will work? Should I also consider new tone pots even though they measured out to...

Tubes are less than 6 months old. A few of the pre amp tubes are older (2 years at most). I doubt they are the issue.
