Any of the other interfaces I've had (Saffire Pro 40, Saffire 6 USB). It is better than the UX2's, though.

Not noticing much difference at all in D/A conversion (haven't gotten a chance to use the A/D side yet).

The UAD plugins are just dandy though.

As long as you don't crank your volume control you'll be fine, generally speaking. Keep it below half and you'll have no issues.

I might try a BKP Blackhawk, possibly a set. I found those pretty bright, but not too sharp sounding.

An SLX should have PLENTY of gain on tap, hell it's actually better suited to modern metal the best of all the 900s.

Also, 800s are pretty low gain amps compared to pretty much...
