Okay, i guess you are a bass singer then, they usually are around D2-D4 or E2-E4. But that don't really matter, if you learn the right technique you should probably be able to reach the tenor range...

I guess he is a tenor, but most of the parts is baritone range i believe. You can hear at 3:07 he is hitting notes way over the baritone range.

Way too much reverb on the snare to start with. It's not that muddy, i think its because the drums are too loud in general or the guitars are too quiet.

Buy the Focusrite and a SM57. The SM57 works great to record guitar and it actually works pretty well to record vocals with it, if you get a pop filter.
