I've been there, the problem is I can't test out a lot of these as they aren't readily carried around here. Haha and our keyboard player can play guitar rhythm we just like to have counter melodies...

Yes, but I need a travel amp the most and I know a lot of artist used smaller/ (sometimes cheaper and considered crappy) amps to record for interesting sound. So I thought might as well.

I'm just speaking from what I've seen, I've seen and had many more tube amps go out than solid state amps (at least moderately priced ones). I know there are plenty of reliable tube amps out there...

Not necessicarily, like ha_asgag said it could be omitting any number of intervals. The order of notes doesn't make it Bmin7, you need to take into account inversions.

Then assuming you are writing in the key of G major or D major (the only chords given), I would call it D5add6.

Again you need a key, and the chord name would change unless you stayed inside of one...
