Dont buy a new hellraiser. The used market is flooded with them for $300-$400. Sometimes even cheaper. They're awesome guitars. Ive got 7 of em.

I have 12-64 on my seven and I can tune to drop G. I would think 80 is unnecessary and uncomfortable for chords. Its practically a bass string, but its user preference in the end.

No its not. I have one.

Sound? Both the damien elite and hellraiser special both have a mahogany body, a maple top, and an EMG 81/85.
You wont notice much difference, if any.
