I would recommend the G50 over the G30 for the metal housing rather than plastic. The range is also better and apparantly more reliable.

Ah yes another point i forgot. The installation is easier and i believe the PCB is more compact than the fernandez. Can't help you with where to buy used as i live in the UK.

I'm sure the sustainiac is also a bit cheaper.

I would recommend at least a Gibson studio. The epiphone electronics are known to be a bit crappy. But as others have mentioned try the guitar out first, because Gibson's quality and feel vary wildly.
