Whats the purpose of no tone knobs?

I've seen guitars with no tone knobs especially for the ones who play metal and harder stuff which is the type of music i play.... mine happens to have on and i always keep it all the way up because...

What should I engrave on my truss rod cover?

Getting a carvin, in the builder it has the option to have engraved truss rod cover and i want to engrave it but dont know what to put

theres two lines each line can fit 10 letters but no marks only...

Buying an amp without speakers..good or bad?

Okay well would it be possible to buy combo amp that comes without the speakers, and then buy the speakers seperately and speakers that are better than the stock ones... like lets say i want a peavey...
