The neck pickup is great, quite clean, bright and with good note definition. Pretty much what you would expect from a low output, vintage voiced single coil and definitely well worth the 18 I paid...

Recessing the TOM is the best option here. You could either recess the tailpiece or do a string through, both these methods work though recessing the tailpiece is probably the easier of the 2.
