No need to. Like I said, it's not wrong per se. Lots of people notate it like that. My personal opinion though is that it's obvious. Personally I only do it in a major context or non-diatonic...

Well, depends.

In a natural minor key the 3rd, 6th and 7th are flattened. So bIII is a bit double, because the minor key implies a b3. But in respect to a major key it's bIII.

It's not wrong. Some...

Don't exactly know where you got the add10 thing from...just E7.

And in context of A minor the C is just a III and not a bIII (but opinions differ about this)

So yeah, key of A minor: A - C- B - Dm...

Right, B dorian/b5 or also 2nd mode of A harmonic major.

@ Skater: the melody strongly implies the B as a root, since measure 1 ends on it, the chromatic ascending line A, A# and B ends on it, as...

Yup, Key of B minor.

But look good at the notes. We have a major 6th in there (G#) and a diminished 5th (F) with some chromatics.

So if we think the chromatic passing notes away...we're left...

Yeah, the vamp is a B, so which key is it then with two sharps? Not a trick question, just the relative minor of D major.

In the melody there are two crucial accidentals. In bar two both are...

Haha :haha:

A Picardy third gives a strong resolution since it's more consonant than it's minor equivalent. So yes, it resolves on the major chord, but that doesn't automatically make a piece...

The second one has 2 cadences IMO.

The V - vi is a deceptive one. The vi functions as a tonic substitute only differing from the tonic by the A instead of G.

The IV at the end probably leads back...

And IMO it does. To me, if I play a high F#m (for example barred at the 9th fret), it doesn't feel like the end station, but it wants to go to E > D#dim > C#m, and we're home.

But please don't try...

But music is open for interpretation. If i was the composer I'd notate it in C# minor...
