The JS guitars are peculiar for shred guitars in that they have a sub-10" fretboard radius. I was GASing for one bad awhile back until I tried one out and felt the neck. It's definitely one of those...

There are a lot of guitars that can pull off the sounds you're looking for if budget isn't an issue. In order to keep costs lower though, I'd recommend either a Charvel Pro Mod (either the san dimas,...

For the single coil, i'd suggest going with something mellow and noiseless. That way you can rely on just that pick-up to handle your clean tones. For the humbuckers, the dimarzio crunch...

I actually just picked up a Sienna Sunburst American Standard with a maple fretboard. It's a beautiful guitar. To be honest, I don't find it that twangy. Certainly a little brighter than some of the...

+1 on the traynor. Pair that with a good overdrive pedal and you'll have an incredibly versatile set-up. I'm playing through a Traynor YCV50 right now and it's fantastic.

I'd avoid a Valveking; they're not so good for overdriven tones, and if you're going to upgrade, there's no point in taking baby steps. It may be hard to get a good tube amp with enough distortion on...

Carvin Custom Shop guitars?

I had pretty much made up my mind on picking up one of the new pro-mod Charvel So Cals, but then I happened upon Carvin guitars. They seem to be generally well recieved, and for around $1100 I could...

Opinions on Charvel pro mods

I've recently decided to upgrade my gear, so I picked up a new standard strat, but now I need something that'll handle my heavier tones a little better. Originally I was looking at a Gibson Les Paul...

Well, the Crybaby isn't a switchless wah. The Ibanez Weeping Demon is not a good wah pedal. One of the Morley's is certanly the way to go. I personally prefer the Bad Horsie II. It's a fantastic wah....

Sounded pretty good. The drums were a little too powerful, but the guitar was still audible. Everything sounds good. Smooth leads, flowing rhythm. For a little over a year you did very good.
