Same here, my 93 studio is great, the 2014 Standard.... it has a few issues fit and finish wise from the factory. The EC-1000T I have is actually a better feeling guitar than both.

Sounds like your string might have slipped either at the tuner or the bridge locking pad. I'd try and see if you can get it tuned up before worrying about it.
