I guess it's all opinion, but if I was going to play with any amount of dirt I prefer a VOX with a Celstion in it. For cleans I like Fender better.

Yeah, not much headroom for sure. If you want clean VOX tone I'd go for the AC15. It sounds great at even bedroom volumes, has great cleans and great drive when you want it.
