You don't need a mixer, you need an audio interface. Get a basic Presonus interface and you should be set.

Have you looked into Logic much? You could use Logic for recording and your backing rig (Mainstage). All you will need is the Macbook, Logic, a basic interface and a controller of some sort.

It is pretty easy to get a program like Tuxguitar or Guitar Pro to write the drums in, save it as a MIDI file, then put it in Garageband or Logic.

I've been using my guitar amp as my laptop speaker for ages. My Cube 30X has an AUX in for ipods and stuff like that. It is the 1/8" jack. I just have a cable from the headphone jack on my laptop...

You could daisy chain multiple Presonus devices to get what you need. Get one device like the Firebox for the midi, and then just a couple of Inspire 1934 units for the instrument/mic inputs.
