Geez.... Maybe strings with a heavier core is what you need. Dunlop Heavy Core strings were designed with a heavier core for increased tension with drop tunings, but in your case it should help with...

One rehersal isnt gonna kill em. Do you sweat to the point that the strings often become moist? If thats the case, clean your strings after every session to prevent breakage from corrosion.

The way I got better and faster at changing chords was to take 3 or 4 chords I knew and randomly switch thru them while trying to stay on beat/time. Doesnt matter the order or what chords you use....
