Well, I found a RG1XXV that's located in a warehouse so I guess it's unplayed. No demo model, 26 euro more.

I think I've settled with the RG1XXV. It played nice, trem system has versatility to it...

Does the dk2m come with a case? The rg550 comes with a case. I think I'll go with the ibanez either if they did both come with cases. I don't know what it is about ibanez but they just appeal to me.

As for on topic, modern rock sucks ballz. Most of the bands (queens of the stone age is an example) mostly just whack straight eight/sixteenth chords. No rhythmic variation.
