Yeah I know Hammet was using a IIC+ on Puppets, but they used a lot of stuff on that record, so it's hard to pin down. Honestly any high gain amp with some scooped mids will probably approximate it...

Well I naturally am interested in the fun element as well, so I think Judo would be cool. That was my biggest problem with Tang Soo Do, lots of useful stuff, but it got kind of boring after a while....

I would imagine so. I always wanted to take Judo, I took Tang Soo Do. It was still fun and taught me some valuable skills, but it wasn't very suited to my build or preferred fighting style.
