I always did, but thinking about it now, it probably uses less energy if you don't. I think I might start not pre heating for some things now, like frozen pizza or things that aren't too complicated.

In metaL, i find it cool if the rythm is quieter, but bassier. and the lead to be a little louder and trebleier. but for metal core, it would probably be different.

I heard of this one pedal, called the Johnny Octave and basically, it raises the pitch of all your notes by an octave, it sounds interesting and could be fun for soloing.
