I would recommend at least a Gibson studio. The epiphone electronics are known to be a bit crappy. But as others have mentioned try the guitar out first, because Gibson's quality and feel vary wildly.

I haven't tried the 50's tribute, but i tried the 70's tribute and it was awful especially for the money. I'm not a Gibson hater quite the opposite, my main guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Traditional.

Actually the new Gibson Kramers are great, especially for the money. SOME of the old ones were better. I know that a lot of old kramers can be pretty bad. The good ones are really good though....

I would think so, since they're only different sizes to allow more or less pedals on it. I'd imagine they'd keep those dimensions constant.
