You could do it by either setting up a jig...

You could do it by either setting up a jig similar to what you would do for a truss rod or you could manually drill it out with a large-ish bit in a hand drill.

I don't like reverb. I think it masks other effect's tone, unlike what many have said about it masking the player's tone/mistakes. I find it annoying with medium gain applications, especially.

The Invader will sound better than through a Line 6, but still not as good as what it SHOULD be run through. It's a hard pickup to tame.

Depending on your amp, I would probably suggest an MIM Strat and something like an Epiphone G400. Might as well get both tones in your price range.
